Everyone should be able to plan a garden with us

Our commitment

Southern Clay Co. aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and to meet our obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accessibility is checked as part of building each page, using automated testing, keyboard-only testing, and screen-reader review.

What we have done

• Text and interface colours meet AA contrast, including our gold accents.
• A visible focus outline follows the keyboard everywhere on the site.
• A “Skip to content” link is the first thing keyboard users reach.
• Forms have proper labels, plain-language errors listed at the top, and messages announced to screen readers.
• The Garden Vision Studio has a full List view — you can choose plants, quantities and where they sit in words, with no drag-and-drop, and still get the same summary, saved plan and consultation booking.
• Pages work at 200% zoom and on small screens without side-scrolling.

Known limitations

• The visual drag-and-drop garden layout is inherently graphical. The List view is the supported equivalent for everyone who cannot use it.
• Our appointment calendar is provided by Google and embedded on the booking page. We do not control its code — if it gives you trouble, call or email us and we will book the visit for you.
• Some older photographs in the gallery have brief alt text; we are rewriting them with fuller descriptions.

Formal complaints

If our response does not resolve the problem, ask for it to be escalated to the studio owner in your reply and we will respond in writing within five business days with what we will change and by when.
