Luxury scapes, rooted in the South
Southern Clay
Bespoke Garden Design
Timeless outdoor spaces that reflect your home, your lifestyle, and the natural beauty of the South.
“At Southern Clay, we believe the most beautiful gardens are those built in harmony with the earth beneath them.”
Designed for Georgia Zone 8
Rooted in the Southern challenge
Beautiful gardens aren't always easy to grow in the South.
Three conditions defeat most Georgia plantings before they start. Our design process begins by answering all three.
Humidity
Heavy Southern humidity stresses plants and invites fungal disease. We select material that breathes and space it to move air.
Heat
Georgia summers punish anything chosen off a nursery tag alone. Every plant in our plans has earned its place in Zone 8.
Clay Soil
Dense Georgia clay holds water at the roots, then bakes hard. Drainage and amendment come before a single plant is drawn.
Selected work
Gardens we have drawn

Flower Beds
Golden Hour Foundation Bed
